Comfort Pillow
This pillow is made up of two patterns, one on each side.
Pattern: Flowers in the Snow (My Ravelry Project Page) -and-
Craft: Crochet
*This was a birthday present for my daddy this year. If you remember last years birthday present that I made for my daddy you'll notice that it matches. This is the same yarn that has a very special meaning (meaning is described in previous post link) to both daddy and me and I was so happy to make this matching set for him. He was very happy with it! *
Materials
Hook used: H (5.0mm) and I (5.5mm)
Yarn used: Some older super saver solid
Color:tan, brown, light brown, off-white
Use yarn again? Until I get rid of all of this yarn. However they are pretty nice finished projects. =]
Project Details and Feedback
Duration of Project: June 7th, 2011 to January 21st, 2012
Made for: Daddy
Modifications: Well. My modification was that I put an edging on one side (some sc rows then a dc row on one side, the other side I did a few rows of sc). Then I did a flap on one edge of the side that had only sc (1 dc row). Then I connected the three sides and corners and put buttons on the flap (then took the open edge and put it over the flap, there is a picture below of this).
Make this pattern again? Yes! These were both very wonderful results. I really enjoyed the Wool-eater pattern and it went so fast and was so fun. (However it was hard to get a hang of at first so if you check out the projects that were helpful to me on my Ravelry page then you can find the instructions I used to help me). I am just so happy with how it turned out!
Final thoughts/ recommendations: I recommend both patterns. If you want to avoid weaving in ends the wool-eater blanket is the pattern for you. However I feel that the Flowers in the Snow would be lovely in a light weight yarn as a very feminine blanket, shawl or any thing of that sort. That would be wonderful to see!
What I learned/practiced in this pattern: I practiced weaving in ends and I really was reinforced in the importance of not doing some patterns while you're talking (the wool-eater blanket)!
