The next stage

Yesterday my sister said I was "truly an old soul!"
To be honest, I'm very flattered!
But more on that later...

The reason of this post, apart from apologising for my ridiculously long silence is to tell you some exciting news.  I've been sitting on this news until I reached a deadline and was made final, so here it is...

I am officially a upper-division nursing student at Grand Canyon University.

Yeah...wow!  This means in two and a half years (if all goes close to plan) I will graduate and be able to work as a nurse in a hospital (or wherever I so desire)!  I'm very excited!  This is such a huge step for me and a very significant achievement.

It's hard to explain how frustrating it can be to have a thyroid problem.  Today I was terribly sleepy and lethargic for no good reason.  I also had no appetite and took very little pleasure in eating food.  Despite this I made myself my first smoothie (Yes, it was delicious! Thank you for asking!!) and I cooked a brand new dinner for my mother and me.  This might not seem like much to some of you but I am a baker...not a cook.  These few things were VERY FAR outside of my comfort zone. And you know what, dinner was amazing also!  I totally showed my thyroid today.  No, I did not get everything done that I wanted and needed to do.  However, I was productive.

This is why my admittance to upper-division is such a huge step for me.  I'm saying that yes, I have a thyroid problem, however, I'm stronger than it.  I want to learn and I want to become a nurse.  Therefore, that is what I will do...no matter what.

I hope to keep this attitude up.  I hope to succeed.  I know the road ahead will be a difficult one but I have my determination, pride and the love of my friends and family to see me through it.

That's it for now.
I have so very much more to blog about but I'll leave that for later.

I hope you all are achieving much and enjoying life, especially the simple things.
Love,
LeeAnn
