I just realized that it has been awhile since I have posted, so here I go!
I finally got daddy to take a few pictures of some things I've made him. There were a few hats, a book cover, and my first ever knit scarf.
This scarf was snatched away from me pretty much right after I casted off.
"Look mom, look dad! My first knitted scarf!" -me.
"Oh wow, that's great. I really like that honey. It's so soft. It's so warm. [a pause and then continuing with puppy dog eyes] I really like that LeeAnn." -Dad.
*rolls eyes*
However, I was/am flattered. It's times like that in which crafters live for. So naturally I surrendered the scarf almost immediately. This took place on 16 August 2009! That's right and I have just gotten finished project pictures taken. I think dad has been hiding it from me in case I decide to change my mind! haha!
(When daddy goes to cold country, he wears it almost like a cowl-shown in above picture. This stops his body heat from escaping from the inside of his jacket.)
It is really great looking at these. I feel I have come so far from my first ever knitted project. I am currently working on a lace shawl, and my next project? A possibly heavily modified sweater for my mother. It's just astounding to me. I really am grateful for getting into Ravelry. I will always have this record of all of the things I have made. Quite extraordinary.
I hope you enjoyed my little look back. I still have a few Christmas present posts that will be coming up the next two Mondays so stay tuned, I have not forgotten!
But now I am curious:
What was your first knit/crochet project? Do you have any pictures of them?

Makes me think...my first "big" crochet project was the afghan I made for my dad--way back when i was younger than you are now. I should drag that out, take pics and post on my Ravelry! Great idea LeeAnn!
Love you bunches!

Yeah! That would be cool! =]
That red scarf really does look great on your daddy! What a hunk! xxxooo mom
It really is amazing how quickly you can progress with knitting!
It really is. =]
Even crochet is that way. There is a lady in my knit/crochet group who started crocheting a couple months ago and she is already working on a beautifully textures afghan. Incredible!
