the beginning of Spring Break 2010

So here I am, blogging from Mission, British Colombia, Canada.  I was lucky enough to be able to see my boyfriend and his family for Spring Break (thanks to my daddy!) and am really enjoying it so far...duh!

I flew out this morning from Skyharbor with my daddy and landed on Vancuover. We then began to use a GPS to find our way to my boyfriends town but finally gave up on it when it told us to get onto a ferry that no longer ran. So I ended up calling Vlad's mom and we got back on track very easily!
But before we went to their house, Daddy took me out to dinner at the diner that Danon (Vlad's sister) works at and that I fell in love with on my previous visit. It was fantastic and my date was even better! =)

I was lucky enough to spend some quality time with Daddy (which I have been finding myself possessing more of) and really really enjoyed it!

Minus Dad's impatience in regards to traveling, inexpierienced travellers, and line (but who can blame him), Dad was an absolutely inreplacable travel companion. I love that Dad is my friend as well as my father.

Thank you for the fabulous day Daddy as well as a sure to be amazing Spring Break.

My Last Weekend of January 2010

This weekend for our father-daughter time, Daddy and I went to our friend, Maynard's house and picked his grapefruit tree! I had an absolutely fabulous time joking around with Dad, climbing the tree, picking its fruit, and talking to Maynard!  I really enjoyed it and the time flied by! We ended up with about 4 boxes of grapefruit (even after Maynard took a bunch for himself!)

 

So...we tried to find uses for the excess of grapefruit supply! This worked great. Sitting in the front room we now have a smell of a hint of citrus. It's very refreshing! =)

I also got around to knitting this weekend. Here is the beginning of one of my projects!

She's such a lady!  I think I love her company more than she likes mine. =)

 

My focus for this week? Finish up two (GASP) yarn projects, while working ahead on my school work!

So this week...

This past week was easy-peasy!  I had no school on Monday because of MLK day and no school on Tuesday because I have no classes.  So...Wednesday I started my school week and there was no workload in any of my classes and Friday was the same.  I also got my first homework back for my Pathophysiology class and I got a 90% on it. =) My first test is this Friday! Wish me luck!

We had some pretty crazy weather this week too...  Considering it is Arizona the rain was ridiculous (but I did love it!). It rained non stop all Thursday and our backyard flooded.  The water almost got inside the back door...rather ridiculous, if I do say so myself.

However, by Friday the rain had stopped for the most part and mother, me and father had a wonderful birthday dinner for my father at Outback Steakhouse.  It definitely hit the spot!!!

It was another great Saturday too!  I went to the Farmers Market again with daddy and we saw Maggie briefly.  Then we went to the gun show!!!  It was an incredible experience! There were so many guns and knives and gear, it was simply incredible. I am so grateful that I was able to spend the time with daddy and that he dished out the money for it...because the parking and entrance prices were absolutely ridiculous (though worth it haha)! Cameras weren't allowed but I sneaked a few pictures from my phone camera-sorry about the bad quality.
The first picture is just a picture of some of the guns there were for sale. There were tables upon tables in building upon building of displays like this.  The second is a really cool (in my opinion) sword and chain mail set! The third picture is, yes, it really is, a desert eagle!!! The fourth picture is a wide variety of swords that were for sale as well.  It was as great experience and am glad I got to share it with daddy.

This weekend I also finished my felicity hat! WooHoo to that!

A reflection on my weekend...

So, in my opinion, this weekend was fabulous!


I was lucky enough on Saturday to have some wonderful father-daughter time at the Phoenix Public Market in Downtown Phoenix!  We discovered Pammelo Grapefruit (yummy grapefruit that is more sweet/sour than bitter!). We got some lovely vegan soap and a homemade sliced sourdough loaf! Daddy got a yummmy beef tamale from the Mexican booth, but unfortunately, he missed out on their breakfast burrito.  We also ran into Maggie!!! Haven't seen her in along time and we caught up a bit.  It was great to see her.  She is a refreshingly honest, open soul.

Sunday was a kinda of bland day but still fun!  First we had church then we layed about the house in a fit of laziness...it was fantastic!

Mother had Monday off in celebration of Martin Luther King Day as did I, so we had a mother-daughter day of Micheal's/yarn/crochet/spending money, and Barnes and Nobles day! Awesome!   It was also rainy off and on and still is AND is supposed to last all week, which I am ecstatic about, to say the least!  It is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to get away from the heat full time!

Unfortunately though, I must leave and do my Module 3 homework...bah! About half way done! WooHoo!

Oh...p.s. on Monday I finished a project for my mother dearest that I have been working on, off and on, since September (finals and transferring schools seem to get in the way of quite a bit). I shall post pictures as soon as we get around to taking them!  Also, I have started a felicity hat for myself.

Well...off to homework for real this time! =)
