Tell her she is beautiful.

I decided this year to participate in the event "Tell her she is beautiful" that was this Valentine's Day weekend.  For this event, all you have to do is tell a girl/young lady/women in your life that she is beautiful. This is an attempt to counteract the negative images spewed by the media about how women should look.  This event is a reminder to all girls that you are beautiful just the way you are.

I decided to tell two younger girls this message; Mary and Camille.  They are two very different and two very beautiful girls...well...young ladies! =)  I also made both of them accessories to compliment their beauty. A hat and a scarf!

For Mary the scarf I made was Crochargosy and the hat I made for her was the My Blueberry Hat (can also be found on Ravelry). Here are some pictures:

For Camille's scarf I did the Luna Lovegood Scarf and her hat was the Pretty Puffs Slouchy Hat (again both can be found on Ravelry). Here are some pictures:

I'm so glad I did this. It was a very rewarding experience and it's nice to know that my love for crocheting might have actually helped two young ladies feel beautiful, thought of, and cared about...which they are!

I'm also so happy that I was able to do all of this (which I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to do).  I only had a little over a week to do all of this but my mission was accomplished!!!

Remember girls/young ladies/women (and men too)..
YOU are beautiful just the way you are.
Do not let anyone make you feel anything less than extraordinary.

Love,
LeeAnn

I think this was a very special and generous thing you did for a couple wonderful young ladies. You have been a special light for me these couple weeks you have been feverously working on these projects. Yes, I did brag about you to my co-workers and grouping sisters. I could not hold it in....
